Kathryn Bartlett - Writer & storyteller

about the author

Born as the 1970s beckoned, in Exeter, a West Country city, steeped in history. I was the youngest of five children, adopted at a very young age. A self-sufficient child, with an extremely vivid inner world, happy to run around the woods next to my house or jumping my imaginary pony over the fences I had set up on the front lawn.

Sent to a very academic, girls' school, which was bearable, until I hit my teens, I thrived in the more creative subjects, (the same cannot be said for Science subjects or Physical Education). A love of fashion, music and makeup. along with a fair amount of rebellion, sums up the mid 1980s for me, followed by a Degree in English Literature and History.

Writing ambitions were put on hold, (or rather, to the back of my mind,) as working as a Careers Adviser and raising two sons took over. North West London became my home, where I still live.

Coming Next

I am currently working on the third book in the ‘Cathedrals’ series. This story is set in London and is centred around Elizabeth’s ex husband and some very unusual occurrences. As with the first two books, the themes of love, friendship and finding your inner strength continue. Along with finding redemption and making peace with the past.
